The internationalization of UMP develops rapidly in any aspects. Recently, two graduates of Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto (UMP), Mujiono and Wahyu Kusuma Putra, accompanied by the Vice Rector IV of UMP Dr. Ns. Jebul Suroso, M.Kep and the Head of International Affairs Office Santhy Hawanti, Ph.D went to Thailand to become English teachers in Buranakarn Suksa Witya School, Pattani, on Tuesday (25/10). It is a follow up of the previous cooperation between the school and UMP. Sinta and Isti, also the alumni of UMP, are the predecessors teaching in the same school for 6 months.

There are 2 agendas to do in Thailand by Mr. Jebul and Mrs. Santhy. The first agenda is to visit the Consulate of Republic of Indonesia in Thailand to officially inform the presence of UMP alumni in the country so that the cooperation between UMP and the School will run well. The next activity is to make a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between both parties, UMP and Buranakarn Suksa Witya School. On the same of occasion, Isti and Sinta have finished their duty to teach in the school. Thus, Mr. Jebul and Mrs. Santhy will also officially pick them up to go back to Indonesia.

Mujiono and Wahyu will teach English to the students of Buranakarn Suksa Witya School for a year. Their knowledge gained while studying in English Education Department of UMP will be shared to the Thai students in the school. The activity to do in Thailand is not only teaching at school but also other social activities such as helping children to read Al-Quran etc.

The cooperation between UMP and Buranakarn Suksa Witya School in Thailand proves that the quality of teaching of UMP alumi is internationally recognized. Therefore, the university encourages other alumni to continue this cooperation by regularly teaching in the international schools. It is an obvious evidence that UMP is on its path to the world-class university. (Novan-KUI)
