Institutional History
UMP was established on **April 5, 1965**, initially as the Muhammadiyah Teacher Training and Education Institute (IKIP Muhammadiyah Purwokerto).
After more than three decades of operation as an institute, it formally transformed into **Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto** on **July 26, 1995**, based on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education No. 345/DIKTI/Kep/1995.
