About the Program

The BIPA Program of Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto (UMP) offers a scholarship to all foreign students to study Indonesian language (Bahasa Indonesia), art, and culture at UMP. The main purpose of this program is to promote and increase the interest in the language, art and culture of Indonesia among youth of other countries.

Scholarship Offers

• 1. BIPA Scholarship (1 month – 3 months)

  • The grantee will study Indonesian Language, Art and Culture.
  • The periods of the study are 1 month, 2 months, or 3 months.

• 2. Indonesian Art and Culture Scholarship (1 month)

  • The focus is to introduce the Art and Culture of Indonesia.
  • Grantees will study arts and cultures of Indonesia and Java (Javanese traditional dance, music, musical instruments, and handicrafts like Batik).
  • This scholarship lasts for 1 month.

ⓘ Note: Applicants must send their applications at least 2 months prior to the intended study period.

Scholarship Coverage

• ✓ Free accommodation + meal (3 times per day)
• ✓ Living cost of IDR 1,500,000/ month (approximately USD 112)
• ✓ Free excursion program (one time per study period)
